HSTS 3048 Laminating System Options:
The HSTS comes as standard with every feature to enable high speed lamination of the entire thermal range of films in both POPP and PET. The following options are designed to permit specialty materials to be accommodated and to further enhance productivity and operator performance.
Feeder:
- F/1/ Additional Feed Board
This feature provides an additional feed board that is mounted on castors and permits pre-loading of sheets away from the machine. This feature is particularly valuable for loading large thin sheets, which can be a time consuming procedure, best undertaken while the machine is running.
Given the design of the feeder, and infeed table, the standard side registration table permits hand feeding of paper sizes up to 30" wide x 54" long. The hand feed table option permits oversize products such as banners over 54" in length to be aligned accurately into the machine.
Laminator:
- L/3/ Double Film Supply Roll Stations Top & Bottom
This feature enables film rolls to be loaded into the machine while the machine continues to run, thus virtually eliminating down time between roll changes. This feature is particularly beneficial when running heavier film weights at the systems true potential, when film rolls are exhausted more frequently.
- L/4/ Integral Film Roll Hoist
This feature eliminates the requirement to manually lift any film roll into the machine. The crane sits within the perimeter of the machine, and is part of the machine structure. This feature permits any operator, no matter what height or physical ability, to load the maximum capacity film rolls into the machine without assistance.
- L/5/ Dual Banks of Cooling Fans
The system is equipped as standard with a single bank of cooling fans, and S wrap cooling rollers. This provides adequate capacity for cooling the film prior to cutting in all cases. The additional bank of fans have been found to assist in the appearance of specialty films such as Transilwrap's 4:6 Transkote, making the cooling more gradual, and providing for spectacular finish and clarity in ID and other heavy film applications.
- L/6/ Release Liner Rewind
This option provides for a silicone release liner rewind, ahead of the lamination nip, and is only required for pressure sensitive applications, and is only available on the upper web path.
- L/7/ Electronic Sheet to Film Registration
This advanced feature permits sheets to be positioned in very accurate registration to previously imaged films. In ID applications where a single Optically Variable Device (OVD) is required to be located within each ID card this feature adds significant security and minimizes the OVD cost.
- L/8/ Electronic Gap Control
This advanced feature permits sheet to sheet gap control to be adjusted and maintained to very tight tolerances, making scratch of patching and other downstream applications possible, without re registration of the web.
Autocutter:
- C/9/ Cut to Print Registration
This option permits the Autocutter to cut to a printed registration mark or the printed image, and is a necessity when cutting opaque or continuous webs.
- C/10/ High Speed MK2 Autocutter
This cutter option permits 12" long products to maintain 100ft/minute throughput when double cutting, and is a significant benefit to any customer who engages in high volumes of products in shorter repeats.
- C/11/ Variable Speed Output Conveyor
This device allows single cut sheets to be accelerated into joggers or stacking devices, as opposed to the fixed speed shingling conveyor provided as standard. This option is recommended for all MK2 Autocutter users.
